A comedian (also known as a comic) is an entertainer who makes his audience laugh. The female comedian is known as a comedienne (also rarely used today except in France). Since the appearance of alternative comedy comedians have enjoyed a raise in popularity and numbers. Many comics suffer from depression or ADHD, which is a reason for the individual's desire to be noticed.
