The term American People refers to citizens native to the United States of America. It is a collective expression to describe all persons who were born in or have otherwise adopted the United States as their country. The American people are made up of a number of ethnicity’s and cultures, but to be classed as American people they must have a legal connection with the country be it as a native or a naturalised immigrant.
