A barbeque is a cooking instrument that is used for grilling many varieties of meat, fish, poultry, and vegetables. Usually barbeques are used outdoors. However, now there are stoves that have a grill attachment with them. An indoor barbeque is ideal for people who like to barbeque in winter. Barbequing is a form of cooking that many men like to do all year long.

Barbeque all over the world

Most people assume that barbequing meat and other items are done in the most part in the United States. However, that isn’t true. It is true that Americans like to barbeque steaks, chicken, ribs, either beef, or pork, and chicken often. However, Australians like to grill meat and fish on a barbeque as well. In fact, in Australia, people call the ‘barbie’ and they like to barbeque shrimp. Also, Paul Hogan, who is an Australian actor, was used in a series of tourism spots for Australia and he said I will be a shrimp on the barbie for you.”

Barbequing in the South

The South was famous for barbequing in the days of slavery and is still famous for the grilling of pork. Most of the time, the entire pig is barbequed because it is cheaper to eat pork than any other type of meat except for chicken. During the time of slavery, slaves were given the less desirable parts of the pig, usually its back or its shoulders.
