Asthenia

Asthenia is a proper medical term that is used to describe the feeling of weakness without any actual loss of physical strength. Too many people this is a very stupefying and terrifying experience. Many people would consider this as dire as the source of the condition.
Causes of asthenia
The condition is commonly seen in patients suffering from chronic fatigue syndrome, sleep disorders, or chronic disorders of the heart, lungs or kidneys. Differentiating between asthenia and true muscular weakness is often very difficult, and in time asthenia in chronic disorders is seen to progress into a primary physical weakness.
The most common causes of asthenia are: Addison's disease, Anemia, Anxiety, Chemo therapy, Chronic fatigue syndrome, Chronic pain, Deconditioning/sedentary lifestyle, Dehydration and electrolyte disturbance, Depression, Diabetes, Fibromyalgia, Heart disease, Hypothyroidism, Infections, Medications, Narcotics, Paraneoplastic syndrome, Pregnancy/postpartum, Pulmonary disease, Renal disease, and Sleep disorders.
Prevention
Some of the common causes can be prevented, and yet some of these are unavoidable. The key factors to minimizing this condition and possibly eliminating it from a person's life are proper living, a healthy diet, exercise, and proper physical care.
In situations such as pregnancy, chemo therapy, chronic pain, and various types of diseases the key thing to do is to seek advice from a physician.
In areas of narcotics, sleep disorders, infections, depression, and anxiety is recommended to seek the needed medical treatments to eliminate these problems and the problems that come from these conditions.
Treatments
for some of the conditions that cause asthenia, there are medications that are available. With other sources to this condition, and adjustments to either medication taken or abuse can be changed. In other situations, the problem would alleviate the treatments that the person is undergoing is concluded.
