Allergy

Allergens are substances that one's body has an allergic reaction to. This reaction is due to hypersensitivity within the body. Some of the symptoms are swelling, runny nose, watery eyes, and sometimes life-threatening anaphylactic shock and even death.

History
Clemens Von Pirquet observed symptoms as some of his patients developed responses from outside allergens such as dust, pollen, or certain foods.
Signs and symptoms
Allergic reactions are characterized by inflammatory response to allergens. These responses can be minor such as swelling, runny nose, redness, and itching.
Nose
The allergic reaction caused by the nose is swelling of the nasal passages and running nose. In time, the person can develop itching, soreness, and redness around the nose. This is caused from wiping the nose so much.
Eyes
Redness and itching around the eyes is caused by an allergic reaction.
Ears
Filling of fullness or heaviness, sometimes even pain, due to the buildup of fluid within the ears.
Skin
Skin can develop rashes, swelling, redness, hives, and even bleeding
Airways
Inflammation and construction is one can cause symptoms identical to asthma.
Worst reactions
Depending on the severity, allergic reactions can cause constriction of Airways, hypotension, coma, and possibly even death.
Treatment
Although there is no actual cure for allergies, there have been treatments that had been developed to help minimize the reactions to allergens.
Common allergens
Some of the common allergens are various foreign proteins, plant pollens, mold, drugs, food, insect scenes and animal products. Many of these cause minor allergic reactions, typically if coming in contact with. It is typically the allergens that can be beneath the skin or that had been ingested last are quite possibly lethal.
